A Twisted Nightmare: A Special Four Part Series on Thomas Randolph’s Six Wives

A Twisted Nightmare: A Special Four Part Series on Thomas Randolph’s Six Wives

On May 8th, 2008, Thomas Randolph made a frantic 911 call to the Las Vegas Metro Police Department, claiming that his wife, Sharon Causse Randolph, had been shot by an intruder. He said he shot and killed the intruder in self-defense. Initially, the case appeared to be a simple botched burglary, with the homeowner heroically protecting his wife.

However, Detectives Dean O’Kelley and Rob Wilson sensed something was off and decided to dig deeper into the incident. Their investigation would eventually unravel a web of deceit and shocking revelations, turning what seemed like a straightforward case into a complex, 15-year-long saga.

A Twisted Nightmare - Part 1 - The Murder of Sharon Randolph, Thomas Randolph’s Sixth Wife

Sharon Randolph had met Thomas Randolph in 2005 through an online dating site, and their relationship quickly progressed to marriage. Friends and family noted that Sharon's once vibrant personality began to change after the marriage, with visible signs of distress and odd behavior. Suspicion grew when Randolph took out a significant life insurance policy on Sharon and convinced her to put their Las Vegas house in his name.

As the detectives examined the crime scene and Randolph's behavior, inconsistencies started to emerge. Randolph's account of the events, especially his reenactment of the crime, raised more questions than it answered. Critical details like the placement of bullet casings, the lack of evidence supporting a struggle, and Randolph’s delayed 911 call began to paint a different picture.

The investigation revealed that the so-called intruder, Mike Miller, was actually known to both Sharon and Randolph and had been doing odd jobs around their house. Evidence suggested that Miller’s role in the crime was far from random, hinting at a premeditated plan involving Randolph. As detectives pieced together the timeline and motives, they uncovered a tale of manipulation and greed. Randolph's attempts to portray himself as a victim and hero crumbled under scrutiny, leading to a sensational trial that captivated true crime followers.

Shockingly, the detectives learned that Thomas Randolph had been married six times. Four of those wives were now dead, including Sharon. This revelation set off alarm bells, prompting a deeper investigation into Randolph's past marriages, where disturbing patterns of behavior began to emerge.

The Six Wives of Thomas Randolph - Coming to Investigation Discovery

On June 20, 2024, Investigation Discovery announced a new multipart documentary series on Thomas Randolph, also known as The Black Widower. The series will air on Investigation Discovery (ID) beginning on July 15, 2024.

Thomas Randolph is a bizarre, outlandish, flamboyant, and twisted individual, and when we crafted these episodes, it was challenging not to let him take center stage. Throughout our coverage of the case, we remained victim-centric, so the stories of the women and families affected by Tom Randolph don’t get lost amid what is a horrific and appalling story.

We plan to tune in to the documentary to see whether the producers unearth any other details about Thomas Randolph’s wives and any additional victims of his disturbing and abusive behavior. As with all our episodes, we strive to center the victims and highlight the importance of justice for their families. If you watch the documentary, please let us know your thoughts on the case and ID’s coverage.
